I just got back from dropping my daughter off at school. Today, as on all first Fridays of the month, was the day that parents visit the classroom and either they present something to the kids OR they see a great project that the children have done themselves. Today was the second.
A few months ago, the kids were asked to get a book about an explorer. My little one chose a book about Ponce de Leon. She brought it to school and I pretty much forgot about it.
Apparently, the kids have been working on huge presentations which they did for us today! They had timelines and maps; wrote historical journals AND made up questions for the Q & A portion!
I had no idea how much would come out of buying that book. It was incredible. The parents were even invited to answer some of the questions during Q & A.
What a great way to start my day!
